This paper presents a resource allocation scheme in wireless networks, aiming at optimizing the user data delay. The performance of the resource allocation algorithm is verified and compared with others from the literature using computational simulations in terms of Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. In these simulations, this study also considers current and candidate techniques for next-generation networks such as carrier aggregation and filtered-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (f-OFDM).
